Vision:  The Mining Department aspires to be a premier national Diploma Mining Engineering Education Center in the fields of mining &mineral industry, recognized by all stakeholders &contribute to producing a Diploma mining Engineer with technical, managerial knowledge & skills for safe and sustainable mining

Mission:
1. To improve and maintain quality diploma program, that is well supported by an up-to-date curriculum, laboratories and qualified staff
2. To produce high quality, rigorously trained Diploma mining engineers for meeting the needs of Mining and Mineral Industry, higher studies and competency exams
3. To inculcate the spirit of Sustainable Development and Conservation of natural resources with due regard to Societal, Health, Safety and Environment.

I) Diploma in Engineering Programme Details:

University is commencing Diploma in Engineering from 2020-21. The nomenclature of the degree are as follows: –
Diploma in Mining Engineering – 60 Seats
Diploma in Fire safety and Industrial safety – 60 Seats

II) Admission Details:

a) The total intake is 90 each, i.e 90 for Diploma in Mining Engineering and 90 for Diploma in Fire and Safety Engineering.
b) Admission for three year Diploma course will be done through Directorate of Technical Education coordinating admission of CGPPT.
c) The vacant seats after CGPPT counseling will be filled by University Counseling

VII) PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) for the Diploma in Mining Engineering program describe accomplishments that Diploma students are expected to attain

PEO–1: To develop the analytical and logical aptitude among students to quickly adapt to new work environments, assimilate new information and problem solving.
PEO–2: To provide students with a sound foundation in the science, mathematics, engineering fundamentals and mining field applications.
PEO–3: A Diploma in engineering must have the background and necessary perspective to pursue graduate, postgraduate/doctoral/post-doctoral education. He must be able to work with professionals in related fields over the spectrum of Mining engineering especially planning, designing, executing and monitoring of various mining systems.
PEO–4: To provide exposure of new cutting edge technologies to the students and to motivate them to take up new challenges to solve the problems faced by society and nation through research and development.
PEO–5:To inculcate self-learning, discipline and leadership qualities with good communication skills in students and to introduce them to holistic approach of working in a team according to the codes of professional practice

VIII) PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POs)

The Diploma in Mining Engineering will be able to:

PO–1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problem.
PO–2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences
PO–3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems of Mining engineering especially planning, designing, executing and monitoring of various mining systems.
PO–4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO–5: Modern tool usage: Create, mining plan, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex mining engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO–6: The Diploma engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities mining /mi1vant to the professional engineering practice.
PO–7: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and Environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
PO–8: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
PO–9: Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
PO–10: Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
PO–11: Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
PO – 12: Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

IX) Programme Specific Outcome (PSOs):

After the successful completion of Diploma in Mining Engineering, the Diploma holder will be able to

PSO–1: Apply science, engineering, mathematics to solve Mining and Mineral engineering problems.
PSO–2: Demonstrate proficiency in use of software, hardware and field to be required to practice Mining engineering profession.
PSO–3: Use the concepts of Mining Engineering to design and implement Mine Machine design, Bore hole design. Geological Data, by DATAMINE and SURPAC.
