Microelectronics and VLSI
About the Department
The Department of Microelectronics and VLSI has a broad range of research that spans generation of new fundamental knowledge as a primary function. This culture of collaboration is one of the major strengths of the department enabling integrative research based on interactions between investigators in different disciplines. The research programs provide facilities and support for postgraduate students and enable them to pursue advanced studies.
Microelectronics education is a collaborative, multidisciplinary activity involving the combined efforts of system architects, circuit designers, device engineers, software developers, and process engineers with capabilities in VLSI (Very Large-Scale Integration) design and software development, VLSI has potentially captured a larger share of the market by focussing on these segments.
The department has faculty members who are having experience in Electronics Industry, state of the art research, reviewing of latest electronic products with good number of publications in the referred international journals in India and abroad. Here at CSVTU we incorporate dynamic, interactive & smart teaching methodologies.
The department has excellent research laboratories and support facilities in the area of Microelectronics and VLSI. Our research labs are equipped with state-of-the-art EDA software tools like DSCH, nanoLambda, VirtualFab, PROthumb, PROtutor (Micro-wind 3.8) for Analog & mixed signal IC design. Software’s of Industrial standard like Cadence and Mentor graphics will soon be integrated in the EDA section. These software packages allow the designer to design, verify, fabricate and validate integrated circuit.
